Pumpeli Gala

Come celebrate the best Finnish and European music videos at the legendary Pumpeli Gala!

As always, the gala programme remains shrouded in mystery until the very last moment. Between the award-winning music videos, RioLive will come alive with one-of-a-kind audiovisual surprises. International and Finnish trailblazers will take the audience on a journey from 1930s Europe to Icelandic soundscapes and Tanzanian dance floors. The stage will also welcome an artist once enthusiastically championed by the late cultural theorist Mark Fisher.

In previous years, the gala has been hosted by the likes of Perttu Häkkinen, Ina Mikkola, and Katja Ståhl. This year, the microphone will be taken over by one of Finland's best-known rap artists. Who? You'll only find out by being there.

The gala will present awards for Best European Music Video, Best Finnish Music Video, Best Emerging Director, Best Cinematography, Best Post-Production, and the Audience Award, as well as several honorary mentions. All of the winning videos will be screened during the ceremony. The gala is directed by Oulu-based artist, fashion designer, DJ, and musician Sisko Iljana.

The Pumpeli Gala is strictly for audiences aged 18 and over. Tickets are available through the OMVF Holvi online store or, if any remain, at the door at RioLive. We recommend arriving early, as the best seats fill up quickly. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the venue.
