*Higami's Hauntological After Work – A Lecture Performance Combining DJ Practice and Sonic Thought

Oulu-born theatre director and performance maker Oxi Koskelainen (known in the DJ world as Higami) has recognized many of his own theoretical and aesthetic soft spots in cultural theorist Mark Fisher's writings on hauntology and music. Fisher's argument that music has had no genuine space for futurism since the heyday of 1990s rave culture has felt, from Oxi's now middle-aged perspective, unsettlingly true.

Yet it remains essential to ask: is there still hope for forms of sonic art capable of reshaping our imagination of the future—something beyond Burial's endless rain and the uninspired recycling of the sonic landscapes of post-punk greats from decades past?

Or does our musical and intellectual future ultimately rest in the hands of hypercharged EDM visionaries?
