Skweee is the sound of scandinavian electronic funk that took the world by storm. It influenced big name dubstep artists like Rusko and Rustie, as well bedroom producers the world over. A loose and free vibe and songs produced on hardware was the ethos of the genre. Labels like Flogsta Danshall and Harmönia were at the forefront of the movement. We Call It Skweee follows the adventures of skweee heroes such as the Finnish producers Tatu Metsätähti, alias Mesak, and Perttu Häkkinen, who produced under the name Randy Barracuda, as they travel internationally taking the Skweee sound to the masses.
The documentary is directed by David Giese, whose new full-length documentary Man Kind Man is out now.
