“Velinen Sunnuntai will be held for the tenth time — and I’m embarrassed. From the beginning I have said to everyone who has bothered to listen that I don’t know anything about music videos, and yet every year they ask me for my curation for the music video festival. Maybe not embarrassing, but weird.
Each year I’m embarrassed to stand up in front of a festival audience and talk about the videos I’ve chosen, but I’ve learned to live with the feeling of shame and to not put on any roles. I’ve tried to be my own embarrassing self and we’ve always survived the show. Both me and the audience. People may even have enjoyed the experience. I, for one, have, because for me every Velinen Sunnuntai is about overcoming embarrassment.”
