The culmination of the Finnish competition of the Oulu Music Video Festival, Pumpeligala, will be held on Saturday, August 26 in RIO! As usual, the content of the evening will remain a secret until then. The director of the Pumpeligala is an Oulu-based artist, clothing designer, DJ and musician Katja Iljana.
The video directors of The Finnish Music Video Competition will compete for the grand prize, Kultapumpeli, and 3000 euros donated by Fotonordic. A promising new director will be awarded with the Afterwork Award and Teinipumpeli offered by Toast, the best cinematography will receive an Equipment Rental Award and Linssipumpeli from Valofirma and Kamerafirma and the most skilled post-production wins the Aalto Speakers product prize and Postpumpeli. This year's Pumpeli statues were designed by visual artist Heidi Kesti.
The jury will also award four directors with honorable mentions. In addition, all videos submitted to the competition participate in the hunt for the audience prize, the Kansanpumpeli, whose director receives a product prize offered by R-Collection. The Finnish Music Promotion Foundation MES awards the Music Video Promotion Prize of 2000 euros to a person who has contributed to Finnish music video through their activities.
The age limit for the Pumpeligala is 18 years. Tickets are sold at Kulttuuritalo Valve ticket office, Oulu10 and www.ticketmaster.fi. Leftover tickets will also be available at the door at RIO starting from 18:30 on the day of the event. We encourage you to arrive early, as the best seats are taken quickly. Alcohol is served at the venue.
