Over the years, OMVF has collected and archived all music videos that have participated in the Finnish Music Video Contest. Therefore the organization administers Finland's largest archive of Finnish music videos, which currently includes 2610 gems of Finnish audiovisual art since 1994. The archive includes both amateur and professional works, which represent a wide range of Finnish masterpieces from experimental animations to showcasing the bands in live action.
Organizing the archive was part of the OMVF Cultural Export Development project, which was funded by State Provincial Office of Oulu and European Union in 2007-2010. The archive work has also been funded by the Finnish Performing Music Promotion Centre ESEK and the Ministry of Education and Culture. OMVF continues to develop the archive and its functions. Eventually the great audiovisual heritage is brought forth within everyone's reach.
