Short documentary about the meaning of dance and its role in society. The energetic and expressive style of dance, Krumping, was born in the nineties. For some, it is the only escape they see from the gangs, drugs and the crime in the streets of Compton. The psychological and physical aspects of this style of hip-hop dancing are explored as Krumping is a part of the life story of the people featured in the film.
After the screening there will be a discussion on the meaning of the social culture of street dance. The screening and discussion are organized in association with the Arts Promotion Center Finland.
