Probably best known for their innovative music videos and catchy tunes, American indie rock band OK Go will perform at The Opening Party of Oulu Music Video Festival on August 25.
Founded in Chicago, OK Go broke through with their sophomore album Oh No in 2005. The amazing one-shot treadmill video for the single Here It Goes Again became a YouTube hit with over 50 million viewers and the band was also awarded a Grammy later on. OK Go's latest album Of Blue Colour of the Sky was released in January, and the video for the single This Too Shall Pass also became a YouTube hit with 6 million views in only a week.
OK Go's music has been described as a combination of Beck, The Flaming Lips and Prince. Previously the band has toured with the likes of Weezer, Snow Patrol and MGMT.
OK Go will perform in Lammassaari Island Festival Tent on Wednesday August 25. Tickets are available in June at Cultural Centre Valve (Hallituskatu 7, Oulu) and Lippupalvelu Box Offices. Tickets in advance 18 € /door 20€.

The band will also attend Oulu Music Video Festival’s seminar focusing on digital marketing and music distribution. The band members of OK Go reveal their success story of making videos, and are available for Q&A in the afternoon on Wednesday August 25.
Seminar also features experts from the Finnish Internet and music industries. The seminar is arranged in cooperation with Center for Internet Excellence Research Centre, North Finland Film Commission NFFC, Dimeke Project and Advertising Agency Työmaa. More information tba in June.
