1st Day of The Festival

The festival opening film It Might Get Loud filled the house at film theater Finnkino Plaza and people were flocking to the Finnish Music Video Contest screenings at Cultural Centre Valve as well. Also the Finnish Music Video Contest and Musixine juries started their work on Wednesday.

Air Guitar Fever rising on the 2nd Festival Day

The Air Guitar World Championships opened with the now traditional High Altitude Training Camp where the contestants could hone their skills in air guitar(wo)manship, this time with the guidance of dancer Teemu Tuohimaa. The camp also witnessed Dan “Björn Türoque” Crane’s lecture on the Nietzchean aspect of playing the air guitar. Today, on Thursday, the air guitar fever rises at club 45 Special with the Dark Horses’ Qualifying Round.

Today the Music Video Festival continues at full blast. Oulu Music Video Festival plays along with the Oulu Night of the Arts event: Tonight we gather at Cultural Centre Valve to cast our minds back to the days of the VHS – You’re welcome to bring all those rasping tapes you filled with music videos back in the days. The VHS evening matinee is hosted by Marko “Pyhis” Pyhähuhta and Anniina Keiskander. In addition, screenings of anime music videos and naturally also Finnish music videos are held at the Cultural Centre Valve all day!
